Thread: Magellan Xl Compatabilty

Hi guys,
have been looking at GPS on e-bay...The ones from the US seem a great deal.
e.g from the US "Buy it now" for $355 AUS + $9 shipping,


From an Aussie seller approx $640

My Question is this..
1. Lets say I buy a US model that has the US base map..(i have read that the base maps are crap)

2. Then , here in Aussie, I buy a 2GB SD card And Buy a program e.g Discover Aust..

3. I load the data onto the SD Card.

4. I put the SD card into the GPS and......

will the GPS work fine?

Aprreciate any feedback , especially if someone else has bought a unit (any brand) from overseas and is using here in Aust..
