    Garmin GPSmap 60Cx

    I have the above GPS, as excellent as it is, the swmbo has thrown out the box.........and everything that came in it. I'm in a bit of a fix as I don't have the program CD that came with it any longer and I would really really like to put my maps up on the computer screen as I sick of looking at the tiny screen on the unit at home.
    So my plea goes out to any one that has this unit and still has the CD, can I please get a copy???? Or even have it e-mailed?

    I have been to the garmin website and they only offer updates not the original program

    Any help would be appreciated

    Cheers

    the mapsouce cd lets you download from your computer, but there must be another cd that installs the programs to allow your puta to recognise your gps. I recently had a similar problem with mine and got the mapsource cd of a fellow forumite, but I still cant hook my gps up to download as my computer doesnt recognise my gps.Is there another installation disk???

    G'day Larns;

    There is only 1 CD as far as I know , which contains Trip & Waypoint Manager ( Mapsource ) , Mapsource and Trip&waypoint manager can be used with nearly all of Garmin Units GPS maping.

    Ok, I had a better look and yes, the Map source cd has the installation details in the handbook section, which I somehow overlooked and everything is now hunky dory, question though, I have downloaded the maps from Tracks for Oz for Qld and NT onto it, can you fit them all on to the GPS???

    Well, after I downloaded the CD i then discovered that there is a new type of compression file out there. RAR
    Never heard of it untill yesterday, took some finding but I ended up finding a free program (another download) to uncompress it.
    It took all weekend but I finally got mapsource up and running. Cheers to Disco owner for all your help, it's what makes this site so great

    But at the end of the day I couldn't do what I set out to do. APPARENTLY preprogrammed garmin cards can't be unlocked and viewed on the map manager!!!!!!!!!!
    All weekend I spent
    So now if I want to view my bluechart on the computer I have to go buy the CD.

    Oh well lesson learned...........anyone wanna buy a blue chart?

    Cheers Guys
