    Nokia 6110

Needed a new phone, so got one of these the other week. $30 a month plan, so didn't expect much. I must admit, I am very impressed with the GPS function. No extra costs for turn by turn navigation, (Route 66 maps installed). Only 6 months free turn by turn on the newer phone models Nokia have come out with. Still have the Magellan for off road work,(that I have downloaded tracks on to). The 6110 is quick to lock on to the satelites and the voice commands, and maps are up to date, it is quicker to calculate routes than my wife's Navman. The only problem so far is that I can't access hands free phone while in navigation mode, as it does not display speaker option as the map is on the screen. That should have been a no brainer, as it knows I'm driving when I answer the call.

If looking for a cheap GPS with turn by turn voice commands, and a very good phone bundled with it, I highly recommend it.

    Cheers,
    Ken

I've had one for over a year and been very pleased with it, but do be careful of the GPS function. It can cost you if you don't change a setting.
Here's a link to explain it all, as well as some other useful tidbits for the phone such as how to insert permanant speed cam locations (hope nobody minds me posting a link)

Mrs Mc and myself have had them for nearly a year and they have been great.

Mine crashes about once a month which is a little annoying but it's better than any other phone Ive had for about 10years as all the others used to just crap them selves due to the harsh enviroment they are working in.

I love the nav, camera, organiser and the nokia PC suit as it makes using things like the organiser and camera very very easy.

the only thing thats annoying is there is no stop watch which I do use a fair bit at work so Im going to have to buy one.

Thanks Moose, I just turned the AGPS off.

No probs, reading the "help" threads associatred with the link above I think a lot of people get caught out by the AGPS. The speed cam locations have come in handy in the past too!
I've never had a prob with crashing, but there may be revised software for it. Mine's been like nearly every other nokia I've had, very reliable. (apart from self-inflicted issues)

    Thanks Moose,
If you look at the end of the 6110 thread, there is a new post by Def110 which is me. I have turned off the AGPS, and downloaded the speed camera info.
    Thanks again,

    Ken
