Got a Colorado 300.
Excellent unit, can use shonky maps etc with it, but the Garmin Mapsource is best. Gives you full auto routing etc.

I've got a GPSmap60, fantastic unit. Don't know about overseas maps, but I beleve maps for all countries are available to purchase.

In australia the shonky maps or the tracks4australia free map sets are very good away from the major cities.

Also have GPSmap60c, bloody nice unit and getting to know all the features slowly - very pleased with it

I've got a Garmin 60csx ,Re: Global maps I believe you can purchase global maps from Garmin for other countries if you are travelling overseas. this is my first GPS unit I've owned so I can't tell you how it rates against other handhelp GPS units , There are features on it like calculator , stopwatch and games which I don't need or use , but all in all I'm happy with the unit. battery seems to last for ages . I Use rechargeable Eneloop Batteries made by Sanyo.

I have a 60csx. A real beauty of a machine. I almost bought a 3rd one when our dollar was high but decided they had lasted really well and should continue too.

Battery life is quite good and quite a sturdy, easy to use unit.

I generally use mine more for geocaching but also for time to time for mapping and reading maps on it.

Excellent reception also.

I had a magelan which had more features but it broke everytime I took it out. Some friends have magellans but only 1 out of 6 is actually working a year later.

I've got a GPSmap76 and the unit itself is great. But, I loaded a map of Lake Macquarie onto it from the MapSource kit that came with it and it shows one of my favourite fishing holes being approximately 150 metres inland from the high tide line .
