Now that's a point - who uses WGS and who uses AGD (Australian Geodetic Datum) or AMG (Australian Map Grid)?

I use AMG with my GPS set for Eastings and Northings, not deg:min. This, to me, is far more useful as topo maps are much easier to use in E-N and street directories are also marked out with a grid that conforms to E-N.

Given an E-N location, you'll find that in a street directory, you won't find deg:min.

Also given a location in E-N and knowing your own location in E-N, you can make a pretty accurate mental estimate of how far away you are from the desired location. You won't do that with deg:min. (I'm talking of locations within the same zone.)
Std map datum for basically all GPS maps these days is WGS84. For street maps, check the book as they will state what they use.

Not in Australia. But as said before, if you are using WGS84 you won't see a difference.

The POI file is for use in oziexplorer and if you use it in that and know what the datum of the points are then you can find the locations

If you need a lesson on how to find waypoints in Ozi i would be glad to help you.

    Gday Kaos,
with my POI's i added them via the manage POI's section in the TomTom and with this you punch in the address, it brings up the map then you save off and during this stage you can only add the phone numbers.

I use oziexplorer to do my POI's and create a waypoint file to use in both ozi & iGO8.
    So I need Lat/Longs or UTM's

Is this your file (see below)

I don't have a problem with putting waypoints is using either lat/longs or UTM.
I will hand the adding of the points back to you if you prefer.

I wasn't trying to steal your project just enhance it.

Yes you are wrong, but right too, the correct spelling is Kerry (Irish Gaelic) Female name, "dark, dark-haired"; Keriann.

Kerrie is the English spelling for the female of Kerry, for some strange reason they wanted Kerry as a boys name and Kerrie as a girls name, the English are strange or gay

There is no male Kerrys in Ireland, it's a girls name, there heaps in England

Gday, ah i think i understand what you are talking about, your POI's are a little different to mine, mine are not completely compatable with yours, Iam not concerened about project, its just something i did when i was bored. I was just thinking have you tried opening my pio file in "POI Edit" or "Tyre" you can get the GPS location and in Tyre you can open it in google maps to get the address.
The hole idea of doing it was to make things easier for people to find a place especially when on holidays if needed all about helping our fellow landy owners
