ECW is a generic map format, not specific to Ozi. OZF is the Ozi format, with ozfx3 being the latest version. And 1:25,000 maps don't cover a wide area, so specify whereabouts you want them. And maybe 1:50k would do as well? Would widen the choices.

ttMaps, a raster maps viewer for for TomTom, can only read ECW.

One option is to convert the .map files on several CDs - but it looks like all the converters we've found lose the map calibration data.

If someone has the ECW files, it would make things a lot easier.

Yes, ECW is a proprietary format so calibrated convertors would not be cheap. I once found a free one but don't recall where it is.

Another option is to run OziCE on your TomTom device or similar, I think TomToms are Windows underneath. If not there are plenty that are like Mios. Restricting maps to ECW is, well, restrictive.

The Raster 250k series are available in ECW and those work very well.

    Ben or Tony

You use the import map option in ozi to import ecw files. This creats a *.map file for you ecw and then you can see them.
most of my maps started out as mrsid files which I converted in Global mapper to ecw them imported them into ozi fof use on the laptop. Then I converted them further to ozf for the PIN.
PM me and I might be able to do a swap of maps

    Hi Kerry

My ozi works well on the lap top, but were trying to put 1:2500 topo maps
onto my tom tom...but all my maps are in ozie ffrmat, and tt needs ecw
dont want to have to convert what I got cuz it loses all the stuff and takes to long...
