Can I load Ozi on this ?

Does anyone have one of these units ??

How hard would it be to load OziExplorer ??

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/7-GPS-2008-MA...1%7C240%3A1318

I realise that a 4gig SD card would be required for all the maps, ozi software, music etc.

    Appreciate any help

To run Ozi it would need to be based on the Windows CE (Mobile 5 or better) operating system. I can't see any mention of that in the ad

    Hi Gavin & Christine,

If your GPS is running Win CE- no issues. Just load OZI onto SD card & navigate to the OZI .EXE file. Set system to start with this application (usually check box) & OZI will start by default.
I have a LogicGear GPS running Win CE 4.2 and it runs OZI OK. I just switch between Sensis App for main roads & OZI for offroad.

    Cheers..Bruiser

And... if you create a hack for it so that the unit boots to explorer not the application, you can then hook it up to your PC with activesync and do all kinds of stuff through the explorer window

Do you have a Logicgear GPS connected via USB?
I have tried everything including ActiveSync but unable to communicate. Logicgear wont release USB driver as they say they don't want users copying program or deleting stuff.
If you have managed to conect Logicgear to PC I would like to know how to do it.
    Thanks..Bruiser

I have had the same issue. Strangely enough I was thinking about trying Mio Pocket by loading it on an SD card and seeing if it works on the Logic Gear device.
This was a job I had set for some time this weekend. I'll give it a go and post back with the results.
    Cheers

Unfortunately you will need to connect via activesync. What a lot of people dont realise (including myself until recently) is that the expensive GPS systems really dont offer anything extra in my mind to justify the expense. My Tevio cheapie has an SD card input, USB connection to the laptop so I got free reign over the unit. I can load as many different apps on it, including other GPS software/maps such as Tom Tom, add maps (I just added the whole of south Tassie) via GoogleMV (666megs! ) so now I got what I need (still to do north of Tassie).

I modified the Favourites to include shortcuts to both apps so I can run which ever I want. And all these extras are loaded on the SD card, not the unit which means I can have many SD cards with the apps, maps etc, the possibilities are tremendous.

I have a cheapo Ebay GPS that I loaded OziExplorer to. It's not the same as what you're looking at, but I assume to steps to get Ozi on to it would be similar. There's some good instructions [ame="http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php't=18135"]here[/ame] that I used for loading Ozi onto mine, they may help you (sorry they're from a Pootrol forum)

Oziexploerer do program for windows CE (mobile) but I don't think that one has it, you will need to convert the ozi maps.
