The unit from Deal Extreme only comes with IGO8 US maps. You need to source Aussie maps elsewhere

    Hi Ranga,
GPS newbie question: Are there commercial Aussie maps for the iGO software? If so are they "iGO" maps or do other maps (eg Tomtom etc) work?

Are you using it for turn by turn directions or running something different?

I bought mine mainly for offroad, but it would be nice to get the street maps and directions working too.

    SteveG,
Not sure if you've sorted this yet, but you can get both Igo8 and Tomtom working on these devices. PM or call me if you need more info, or better still, go see Joker, he should be able to sort you out.

    Regards,
    Ranga

Thanks for your help Ranga - I caught up with Joker and pretty sure I've got everything I need now to get it sorted.

Have to wait for another couple of weeks before I can play with it though. I bought it as a birthday present for myself - it arrived in the mail while I was at work, and my daughter and wife hid it before I got home (its not your birthday so you have to wait!! )

Free shipping, about $130 when converted to AU$. With a little bit of tinkering, allows you to run many different apps, including Ozi (extra $40 for the license). If you like, I could probably give you a hand setting it up.

Just bought one of these! Any ideas where I could source Australian road maps?
