Obviously not. In that case I'll get the units direct and eagerly await a set of instructions.

Well, I was just about to order 20 GPS units from DX, then stumbled across virtually the same unit, except with a 500MHz CPU (instead of the usual 372MHz units from Deal Extreme) on eBay.

I'm hoping that the new faster units I've spotted use the same modifications as the slower units I'm used to dealing with. If so, I'll probably aim for them instead. This will naturally make them work a bit faster. Not the the 372s are slow, except when playing movies they stutter a bit. The only problem is, it will probably take a couple of weeks to receive the faster one I've ordered and test it.

So, who wants the Deal Extreme 372MHz unit, and who wants to wait and see how the faste one goes? Sorry for the muck around, but I'd like to give you all the opportunity to decide which one you'd like.

For those who have already ordered the Deal Extreme units, don't worry. They still work fine, and I'll still be providing a tutorial and files for modifying them very soon!

BTW, I got approval this morning to use some files in the mod that a friend created, so hopefully a tutorial will appear before the weekend.

The only difference I can see apart from the speed is a different colour frame and slightly different bracket. I'm going to get one and see how it goes.
