For bigger screens you could try one of these:

D2 Laptop Setup

The mount is like a camera tripod with a 3/8" screw, and it bolts to your seat rail. The tray in these photos is optional, eg. if you need it for a laptop. I'm about to install a 12" touch screen with it. Here's the link on eBay.

thanks . thats where i wanted to put it however the gps i have in a 7" screen dimensions are 200 by 120 which is about as wide as the stereo . and if its on the windscreen cant see anything. oh well i'll keeping thinking and make up a custom holder .. any other suggestions

what's really needed is a Head Up display which projects onto the windscreen ... now that would be helpful...watch it and the road ahead at same time...
