I've tried to find threads or posts that mention this product, but it seems a bit of a sleeper.

The Open Street Map project is some DIY mapping, with routable maps in a variety of formats, including for Garmin units.

To my surprise, they have Fraser mapped and routable, at least on major tracks. This is better than the standard Sensis maps (that have no roads/ tracks on Fraser at all) and also a leap on the free Topo maps, that show roads but don't do routing.

Given the mapset doesn't have streets within 1km of my home it isn't a substitute for the Sensis or Navteq maps, but it is a useful addition to the collection.

One small problem for me so far: I haven't worked out how to get a set that will load properly to MapSource. The single-state maps load to the GPS OK, just takes some juggling to get more than one available along with Shonky etc.

Are other people using this? Or even contributing?
