    TOMTOMXL/Satellite phone service

    Hey I seen some of the posts on here and I wanted to add my 2 cents. I run a TOMTOMXL and its great no problems yet! I also run a Qualcom GlobalStar 1600 Satellitephone with the Date service. I can see where I am at all times and also make a phone call. It plugs into the the computer and away you go. Just an Idea I dont know what service you have in the bush. I do know its nice to call for help when you need it! Feel free to ask me about questions I will post some pictures of my set up to show you. And yes they handle the off roading bumps. They have full waterproof bags and cases.

    Having tested GlobalStar I can say if your mate was having a heart attack in the bush he'd be dead, buried and the memorial service would be over by the time you'd managed to make a GlobalStar call. I'd recommend Iridium and Thuraya for Australians, and Inmarsat later this year.

    WOW Ok lmao that said it all. If your in OZ Global is not for you! thank you for the information tho. I havent hurd problems from there. You really had that hard of a time using it? Nice way of puttling it by the way lol.

    Ya I looked into it and called them. They said it will work but Ill take your word on it. Sorry if i miss lead anyone. Global's not ment for out back trips your mate will be dead if you had to make that call haha. But state side works well no problems yet! I run my satellite GPS from it tho I run weather and stuff like that.
