Gosh you must have clean hands! You should have bought the black one...
Hi Guys
I've finally got around to mounting my 9" ASUS eeePC in my Defender running oziexplorer. I chose the eeePC because it is solid state with no HDD
The GPS on the right is my old Garmin unit but I'm using a USB GPS for the eeePC. So far the USB GPS appears to be picking up enough satellites whilst mounted on the dash.
I welded up a removable rail that uses RAM mounts to support the eeePC
The rail is supported by a bracket that runs behind the top lip of the parcel tray and uses existing screw holes on the parcel tray lip to secure plus and existing screw into the side of the Mud Dash
I'm running the eeePC of a Jaycar in-car laptop powersupply that suits this and other mini-laptops
We'll see how it goes

So a few months on, how is it going? Are the mounts holding up, has the laptop taken the work? I have looking at similar setups for mine.
+1 for that
+ 2 as im setting something up like this too.
Where did you get the laptop support base from?

I have to replace the Logic Gear GPS in my Defe and today I looked 2 the Tom Tom and Navman on the range up to $240
I just wonder if a small Asus running on Linux and a GPS antena will be the best option?
