    Not the sort of news !!!!!

    Got some news from Daughter No 1 and her boyfriend over Christmas.
    Not the sort of news you want to hear...........Dad I bought a Land Rover.
    Seems to be a Series 3 5 door with 186 Holden motor.
    Gets worse..........Can I keep it at your place, so you can work on it. Arrives next week, I think.

    I'm currently doing a resto on a Series 3 5 door station wagon myself, get some photos up when you can!

    Ahh yep, been there done that myself. I'm of the younger crowd I suppose, at 30. Series Land Rovers are a lot more fun to work on, and maybe even drive

    Good Evening.
    Have an alarm, buzzing behind the dash panel.
    Was an alarm fitted to a 78 S3 5 door for any reason ????
    Maybe PO fitted. Water/oil Temp. Holden HP red motor 179 fitted. Or brake warning alarm, on dual circuit ?

    I am not aware of an alarm of any kind being fitted as standard to any Series Landrover. Of course, any alarm can be fitted asftermarket to any vehicle pretty much. At least some dual circuit brake Series 3 had a brake warning light, and it would be trivial to add an audible alarm to that circuit.

    On the other hand, have you considered an instrument voltage stabiliser (back of speedo on S3) which is acting as a buzzer, perhaps due to a short.
