    Flex

    just looking at this thread SHOW US YOUR FLEX !!!

    I thought I'd ad some pics here rather than hijak that thread.

    The suspension on my truck is completely original and I'm completely happy with it as is.

    I could have driven to the top of the dirt pile but the tree was in the way. Dosent look like much flex in the photos but the tyres are 37" so you can see the wheel is parked higher than the diameter of the wheel (well over a meter) . Part of why these things are so good off road.





    the chassis flexes a bit too, so you need to flexi mount the rear body as well.

    Nice! Would it be fair to say that the front end has a lot more flex than the back end? I assume because all the weight is in the bum?

    the front has more droop travel but not much bump stop, the rear has more bump than droop, it works well except when you hit a raised cattle grid too fast you feel the bump, but bull dust holes and corrugations are sweet.

    I should park back on that dirt pile and take photos of the bump stops .

    Those rims look good on the Iveco. Have u changed them? Thought you had different rims on it..

    Yes, well spotted, I am trialling the new EVA 17x9 steel rims. 25mm less offset than the TravelTruck 17x9 rims , (so the track on the truck is 50mm wider with them.)

    The front rotors are non ventilated and I cooked my brakes with the TT rims , the new rims are 15kg lighter (each) but rated at 2100kg instead of 1900 for the heavier rims

    images below compare the cooling holes old & new rims




    very happy with new rims, but I had to move the rear guards out, I'll need to add some rubber flares up front.

    I was going to get the EVA Alloys but Im thinking I'll hang onto these nice steel rims for a while.
