    D3 Kaymar & HF Bracket

    Hi Folks,

    I have an MY09 D3 "S".
Fitted with a rear bar and wheel carrier.
I finally got around to fitting the HF Antenna Bracket, and test fitting a Codan 9350.....

    Anyone else done this ?
Have you found the clearances a bit tight ?
The bracket for max clearance of the antenna from the vehicle must be mount to the outside, (otherwise I fear a broken rear window) and in my case I had to move the rear wheel (on the carrier) out (rearwards) a bit to maximise the clearance from the vehicle body.

Unfortunately at my new premises the garage clearances are so tight in height the antenna is a fit when you need it now

    Hi gps-au,
I've just recently fitted a Barrett auto tune to my 05 D3 TDV6 SE attaching it to the Kaymar rear bar attachment. I got everything to fit, just as you mention it's tight, my fear is the bolt will work loose so when I know it's in the right place, I'm then going to match mark the bracket and tig weld the top part of the bracket to the vertical pipe / tube. I didn't have to move the tyre well I haven't yet. I'm running a standard 255 60 18 on a standard D3 rim, if that helps at all. Do you want a pic?

    Thanks,
Dont need a picture, I can look at mine

only diff is 18 inch (mine is 17)

Because the Antenna is not a permanent mount, I am putting an IPL 67 (I thank thats right) connector on the corner peice of the bar under the righthand tail assembly, and an RF connectore beside it, rather than have dangling cables when no antenna. I'm not really ha[[y with the plastic connectors from Jaycar/Altronics, still looking for metal actually.

I have the Barrett auto-tune antennae mounted on the inside of the Kaymar dual wheel carrier, between car body and tyre - passenger side, and 265/70/17 LT MT's with steel rims and there seems to be plenty of room on it. Does your extension that mounts to the Kaymar have an offset mounting tag at the top which locates it further to the centre ?.
