Congrats you wont regret it.
At work we have the same problem.
The problem is leaving the door open for long periods of time with the key in the vehicle. You are right as the veicle keeps searching for the key & waiting for the start button to be pushed. Yes it cycles & wants a start.
Also we find that the lights are left on, the radio going flat out etc etc.
Once you have the vehile, things change as you are the only person looking at the vehicle & you wont be showing 40-50 people per day how it all works.
Eventually the battery says i have had enough & will need a charge.
To turn on the ignition ONLY dont touch the brake pedal in the start sequence.
Normally you would hold the brake pedal to start the vehicle, dont hold down the brake pedal & the instrument cluster will illuminate & tell you do hold brake pedal to start.
