I've just sent a "thank you" e-mail to Nick for some parts which arrived in the mail yesterday....took all of four days !!!
When I inquired about the same parts at a local dealer the near comatose parts guy said "nahhh we don't have that in stock...they've got one in Sydney...it'll take a week to get it here" .....I could walk to Sydney in a week....why is the stock answer always "a week" for anything you want ? - be it a TV - a fridge - or a Landrover part ???? It's a small world nowadays and the sooner the local dealers wake up to this the better.
P.S. the part (including freight) cost less than half what the local dealer quoted....go figure.

any tips - what have you learned

Have ended up buying stuff from different places, some imported, some local through ebay. I still think you're better off importing from the UK. The 'large one' has been mentioned heaps and he's been helpful, I've actually contacted him too.
