Thread: Max size spare wheel

Anybody know what is the maximum sized spare wheel that fit in the spare wheel holder under the car?

I am comtemplating buying some new rubber for my D3 with 17" wheels but want to make sure I can carry it in the right place (fully inflated), although some i am sure would say the 'right' place in on a 'swing away' wheel carrier.

Anything with a diameter of 31" or less should fit fully inflated. A 265/70/17 (31.5") will fit if deflated to 16psi or so, depending on the tread.
