what problems to look for in D3

    Hi All,

I'm looking at a hale damaged D3 with only 80K on the clock. Its the standard diesel one without the air suspension. I think its about 3 years old.

Are there any gremlins to look out for?

And is it easy enough to put a 2inch lift kit on them without causing to many issues?

    Cheers
    J

Horses for courses. Personally, I would just flag that non-air suspension = no terrain response. Obviously one needs to consider what driving is being done, but if much off tar work is done, in my mind traction control may be an advantage. Just a thought. Some of the early models that did not have air suspension, also missed out on seats 6 & 7, also, just something to be aware of.

Not really answering your question I understand, just sharing some thoughts.

You can fit +45mm springs from Kings. They actually work out to +50mm by the time they're fitted.

The coil D3 has traction control as std (similar to the Defender) but no Terrain Response, so you can't vary the traction control parameters. Makes sand driving a little harder.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
