    Congratulations Tim!

Are you going to use the D4 like you used the Defender offroad?

If so, I can't wait to see a D4 tackle everything you have tried in the Defender!

Hi Dorko, it looks like it is luck of the draw when it comes to "The Land Rover Experience" whether it's sales or service.

Thanks Neil, When I took the D4 for a test drive that really made my decision final, it just drives so well! However I can't see myself reacting well if I have diff problems with the D4!!

Hi nice1guv, it's a 4WD isn't it?? The D4 will certainly be used as a 4WD, I will be more worried about scratching it though! (Which is why I brought a white one). I intend to use it more as a touring vehicle, and depending on funds I'll get another LR, (RRC, D1, Defender), to satisfy my need to tackle the difficult stuff.

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Hi Dorko,

I'm a newbie to this forum.

I loved the idea of owning a Disco but held off for years due to all the bad press. My understanding was that the D3s were solid. On that concept I purchased a D4 SE 3.0 TD with a couple of extras.

I love the truck.....looks great, drives unbelievably well off and on road and the engine rocks.

However, within a few months I've had three broken light fittings, which I'm assuming were damaged on assembly and I'm waiting for a compressor for the air suspension....which is very temperamental. I've also had an annoying vibration/rattle from the engine area at idle or when coming to a halt. LR mucked with an induction hose which appears to have reduced the frequency and severity of this vibration but hasn't stopped it completely.

I have a question for anybody on the lights too.....I cannot see a change in the Zenon light when I select hi-beam...only the Halogen coming on. LR here in Brisbane recon that the Bi-zenon is not on my vehicle. There also apears to be static cornering lamps which I cannot get to come on at any speed. Once again LR recon that they are false blanks. Any ideas?

Anyway, I'm hoping the faults are just teething problems.

I'm looking for feedback from other owners too.

Looks like I'll be sticking to the Defender for a while Things have recently tightened up financially, also I won't be pruchacing another LR product until they, (LR), can prove to me they can sucessfully service their own products.

    That's a shame Tim!

Not that you'll be driving the Defender , but that money is a bit tight.

I'd love to see a D4 get some abuse up close.
