    D/4 wheel options

    Hi All

I have a mate in Mackay with a D4 wanting to do some offroad work towing a Kimberley Camper Trailer to the Cape and accross the northern part of Australia.

I notice that 17" steel aftermarket (Dynamic) are currently available for the D3.

Will these suit the D4? He currently has 18" alloy rims with 255/60R18 Goodyear Wranglers.

What tyre choices are there for the 17" steel rims to suit the same rolling radius that matches the tyres on 18" rims?

Looking for a good strong tyre. Either and AT or MT.

    Cheers

Your mate's D4 must be a 2.7ltr otherwise it would have 19" wheels as the only option. The 17" will fit the 2.7ltr only. I have a set of BFG MT KM2s size 245/70/17 which I am very pleased with. Did Murray Sunset and Big Desert trip a couple of weeks ago and they performed brilliantly. Only downsides are worse fuel consumption and a bit noisy at low speed on road. Diameter is almost the same just a little larger which means a little more clearance and makes my speedo reading more accurate against the GPS.
