A quicknote before I forget about this. Those that have fitted a long range tank, where the OE filler neck is replaced, will have noted the LR fuel cap is now quite a poor fit, and only tightens on the last of the available thread. It seems the OZ tank manufacturers fit tank necks to an Australian standard fit, and not unusually, the LR fitting is a little different.

You can fit amost any other manufacturers fuel cap, but you lose your LR hang strap and of course the LR cap. ( yellow top if it is a D4 diesel )


Solution. Find a cap from a Honda Accord ( a few others also fit ) carefully disassemble the OE cap and the Honda cap. Use the Honda parts with the LR top. The tightening ratchet still works and the cap threads properly into the long range tank. Looks original and works well.
