D3 steering clunks? D3 steering clunks?

I notice on my D3 that it clunks upon steering, especially when going over something like a speed hump (at slow speed) and on lock. You can feel it right through the steering wheel. In fact the steering wheel feels sesitive like you can feel all sorts of bumps etc. Is this normal? The car has only 20,000km's on it and I bought it with 15,000 back in April, so I'm guessing this is just normal. Also when in slow traffic if you accelerate, then back off, the idle stays on then eventually slows, so it is not immediate. I this too normal. Other than that I have no problems and love the car. Maybe it's just me getting used to it still.

I often "coast" (no engine) from behind the house down to a slight slope to the shed where my gentleman's carriage is under cover. I have to steer around a slight curve and I always feel a series of bumps (its like a clunk but felt not heard) through the steering wheel when I do this. I am not sure what part of the power steering creates this feel but it obviuosly has to do with no power steering pressure. Does Hedley have a pump issue at low speed?

After reading all the comments, I'm now not sure, but will definatly get it checked out by ULR. The clinks are ever so slight, but the feedback through the steering wheel is very noticeable. I first noticed it when off - road for the first time. You can really feel things through the steering. I don't know if that is because of being used to a solid axle vehcile (D2) and now with the D3 it's a totaly different set up? Wheel articulation is probably where it is most noticed but again it feedsback through the steering.

mine suffered the same clunk and LR have replaced the lower ball joints - still does it however and it seems to be intermittant. As I revervse out of the driveway on lock across the gutter it clunks and likewise over speed bumps at very low speed.

Could be - sometimes it even feels as if it is in the steering column. Going to take it in next week so LR can have another look.
