I am not sure what part of the power steering creates this feel but it obviuosly has to do with no power steering pressure. Does Hedley have a pump issue at low speed?
Sorry to hijack the thread. Are you saying you regularly turn the vehicle with the motor off and no power steering ? If so, I would be seeking advice of whether the power steering rack has an internal torsion bar, that could be damaged by this action. I'm not familiar with the LR setup, but in general it is bad practice to turn a power steer vehicle with the motor off. ( apart from any safety concerns )

Issue has been resolved. Took car in for the 24K service the other week and they replaced the lower steering linkage. At little strange considering that this issue was there from when I bought the vehicle at 14K back in April. All covered under warranty, but I wonder if it is a common problem or just a one off?
