I'm about to do a trip and bought a cheap DVD player with slave unit that clips onto the back of the headrest from Aldi. It was only $129 for the full set. (If it doesn't work out well, I can return it within 60 days.)

Anyway, I was hoping to setup some cordless headphones to the unit, which has a standard 3.5mm headphone socket. Anyone got any experience with this?

Most of the ones I see need the base unit to be connected to a power source. The other IR cordless headphones on eBay assume you already have a roof-top mounted system that transmit IR already.
