    Talking LR FACTORY EXTENDED WARRANTY

    Evening all,
I know this has been a hot topic & i have had lots of enquiries at work on the subjet, so i thought i would paste what is on offer.

LandRover have finally released a "Factory" extension to the warranty on most vehicles.

    There are 2 Catagories Cat.4 & Cat.5
Defender is NOT included in the warranty extension

    Cat.4 is Discovery 3, Discovery 4, FreeLander 1, FreeLander 2 & All RRSprt except S/C.

Cat.5 is RRSprt S/C & all Range Rover Vogue.

    12 Mnths extension
    or
24 Mnths extension up to 200,000Km's

    Prices are.....

    Cat.4 12mnths $2290.00 24mnths $2620.00
    Cat.5 12mnths $2995.00 24mnths $3495.00

If you own a vehicle that is less than 5 years old & has less than 120,000kms on it you may also apply for the warranty.
The warranty is also transferable if you sell the vehicle privately, adding money to your vehicle possibly..
The Roadside assist also continues with the extra cover.

I am not a seller as i dont have the creditation to do this.
But thought i would pass on the details.

If u are interested let me know & send an email to me at psnieg@mlr.com.au & i can pass on the details to the appropriate people when & if you require.

Obviously there is a rules & regs etc & also a PDS at the dealership if required.
It is underwritten by Allianz(who else) & many people have been happy with this already.

    Cheers all.

Thanks for the info. More than what my dealer could provide me. Said it was new and would send through more info later. I took the gamble with my D3 and didn't get extended warranty. Have spent around $6k on it since warranty ran out. Even if at least half it was covered under warranty it would have been worth it. By the way, the D3 is driving better than ever at present, feels as good as when I first picked it up, not bad for over 5 years old and almost 150k on the clock.

Will definitely get the extended warranty with the D4 when it finally arrives.
So, I can buy the extended warranty anytime up until my factory warranty expires?

Did you know that Allianz have "chosen" to limit their liability with
this policy ( after selling them ! ) and now refuse to pay for several
aspects of repair that they "don't think" is their problem ........
It's not actually a "Factory Extension " as it doesn't cover all that
the New Car Warranty covers ( like a UK 5 year RR LR warranty does).

    Hi Neil,
No, Have been given a pamphlet on it & some pricing.
Dont know all the ins/outs but the people from Allianz was at the dealership & assured us it was basically a factory extension.

We will see how it goes i suppose.

    cheers.

There are some Threads on D3UK/Aus at the moment , detailing the
refusals of Allianz to repair/diagnose/software-correct against the
Insurance Provider's account , having done so previously.
Anyone requiring a repair should request a replacement , since
they won't pay for repairs now. It's turning into a farce .

Hello Folks - I know you are discussing the Discovery here - but mention is made in the opening post regarding Defender. For any potential Defy owners reading this....

I bought a Defender extended warranty from a Qld dealer several months ago now - rang him this morning (Thurs 5th August) to ask about the Defender being dropped. He had heard rumors - but managed to pull up a quote on line, as we spoke, for a 3 year warranty. So at this actual point in time, you can still get extended Defender warranty.
