Chris - "It's really easy, just give it lots of revs"
This is how it looked from the side (sorry about the pic - taken on the move)
And this is how it looked to us "first-timers" !!!!

Chris has been driving Land Rovers longer that I reckon he would care to admit. He is probably one of the very few that will still drive the test track at MLR.

Fifi,
I did one of these with my wife and I can not recommend them more highly.
As both of us were relative novices to 4wding the course provided a great environment to learn from "qualified" instructors who had already showed that what they were asking you to do was easily done in the D3.
My wife did about half the driving, a lot with me and the kids out of the car so she could concentrate and ask as many questions as she felt necessary and she really enjoyed it and got a great feel for the capabilities of the Discovery.
If you are at all unsure of taking the D3 off road or simply want to get an appreciation of what they can do in a controlled environment try and find one of theses course and book in.
Regards,
George
Oldsalt,
I like the new Avatar !!
Thanks - it was time to retire the old Range Rover avatar - we "won" the use of the Range Rover for a week (plus all fuel/food/accom. expenses) some years ago (in a competition run by LRA), picked it up from the Adelaide dealer and spent a very adventurous week up in the Flinders Ranges.....we all know hire/demo cars are 4wd but this one really was !!!!!
I guess that's where I got the LR bug and here I am many years later the proud owner of a D3.
cheers
Oldsalt,
Love the photo of the Fenceline for the "First timers"..
That's why i couldnt find you, i was looking for a Range Rover as this was your avatar...Didnt see one & didnt know who you were, shame we didnt get to say hello.

SubscriberHow often does ULR run those days? I will miss out on all of the dates in 2010 because of work.Cheers marc
We normally do 5-6 per year.
We have 2 left this year, 1 in 2 weeks time & then 3 weeks or so after that.
Contact either MLR 9684 1000 or ULR 9864 3555 service dept & we can give you contact details to find out if a spot is left.
Or wait until next year when we organise them again.
Cheers.
