    Duck's Guts,

    Nooiice...

A little off topic, but which rack do you have on the roof? I am looking for something at around that size that I might be able to throw a couple of spare wheels on for my country trips.

    Thanks
    Cameron

Another tyre that I have been looking at when I get my 18" rims is the Cooper Zeon LTZ. They seem to get a great write up.
    Any opinions?
    Cheers, Craig

It's a Blackwidow alloy rack. Uses Rhino hardware (track & legs). Full mesh floor. 1800 x 1265mm. Weighs only ~26kg.

Website with recommended retail $'s is at Aluminium Roof Racks

But, it throws up more wind noise than the muddies. I'm investigating what I can do to reduce this noise...some deflectors perhaps...

Mate! I love it. It looks infinitely better than stock and much more practical. Its a pity you cant get the Maxis in the 3 ply sidewall for that size ...that may come though. I think it looks like a proper 4wd now. Funnily enough it looks dressier too.

I reckon if your spending 70-80 large on a D4 you might as well throw the dough at it and get this set up if you are doing a fair bit of off road work.

    Cheers

Thanks all for your kind words.

I'm still happy with the new rims & tyres.
The Bighorns are fine onroad. The noise is acceptable from my point of view.

But I've gotta do something about the roof rack noise. It's shocking when sitting at 110~120 down the freeway for 7+hrs! I could live with it at a push, but I'm sure I could do something with deflectors on the leading edge & cut some of the noise down.

    Craig

There are a couple of threads on these tyres just search for Cooper LTZ's
I was thinking of these however am now leaning toward BFG AT's in 265 x 65 x 18.

I also think people are pretty careful about expressing their opinion regarding Cooper Tyres on a public forum.

    Regards

    Chuck

Hi Chuck, not sure what you mean about the Coopers. I can only go on past experience by saying that I had a bad run with the BFG's on a Rangie once and would never buy them again. Yet I have heard others say that they are a great tyre????
If / when I get the Coopers, I'll let you know how they go.
    Cheers, Craig
