Graeme,
Very impressed with the Maxxis, the traction on loose rock and shale at pressures below 30psi is very good. We spent 5 days at Warraweena station in the Flinders recently and gave them a serious work-out. No chipping of tread blocks at all. We did the Mt Gill track which after the rain was very washed out and extremelly technical in places. Anybody wanting a challenge should try this - friends with us have done Skytrek several times said this was much more diifficult. The D4 is awesome, no loss of traction, no bumps or scrapes. We had an interesting mix of vehicles which all did it in their own way, some required a bit more effort than others. Others there were a highly modified 4.2 Patrol tray back running MT ATZ 4 ribs and a modified 80 series with Cooper ATR, nobody had any issues and it goes to show how the right tyre pressure and picking the right line goes a long way to making life easy. Will post some photos of Mt Gill shortly.
