Check that the whine is not the wheel bearings. I had my rear diff done
on my 06 TDV6 when i picked it up noise still there it was the rear left
    wheel bearing.

yup - I am going to get a second opinion on both the compressor and diff. Has anyone used Rick's 4WD Centre @ Nerang and if so would you recommend them?

    Thanks again,
    Brett

If you get really stuck - I'll help drain the wine from your diff!

Hey guys, I've just bought a D3 with 95k on it and was told by the previous owner that the front diff was replaced at 80k and the compressor at 65k. I've just got it back from the 100k service was told that i need front CV's {entire shaft required} and front wheel bearing pack and bushes? So i can only assume these are common for D3's???

If you bought this out-of-warranty , the seller probably
saw it coming ....... welcome to expense , and yes , it's not
    that uncommon .

Wheel bearings are a common failure but haven't heard of CVs going.
