Don't know anyone with a MY11 yet. Pick up mine on Monday. MY10 ironed out all the problems. MY11 will be perfect.

A v.good friend is about to collect their new D4 MY11...
Are their common things that they should check are done by the dealer prior to delivery, and also any known issues on MY11 build they should look for?

I am expecting delivery of a D4 mid November. Am I correct in assuming that factory builds in the past few months and into the future MY11 plated?
So what is the definition of a MY11 car anyway?
VIN's descibe the vehicle model year on all European Cars.
SALLAAA139A123456 is a 09MY
SALLAAAF3AA123456 is a 10MY
SALLAAAF3BA123456 is a 11MY
Regardless of build & compliance.
The 10th digit depicts model year.
9=09MY
A=10MY
B=11MY
C=12MY
etc.etc.
11MY goes into production in the UK in Aug/Sept, therefore any vehicle built from this date will be the next model year.
HTH Cheers.
Many thanks![]()
Only initial issues with our D4 have been a couple of tiny cosmetic things - some surface scratches on the plastics below the steering wheel, and a weird little extruding dent in the rear pillar near the tailgate, which is obviously a manufacturing thing and LR are happily fixing under warranty... Won't complain if that's our only troubles!
Oh, and have had to buy darker-tint sunnies to be able to look at the Fuji White!![]()
3 weeks in and no problems at all with the MY11 HSE. Wasn't possible to try out all features during the dealer hand over, took most of the next weekend to try all of the HSE gizmos. Everything seems to be working, even the voice control.
Current "Party Trick" is to tell "Navigation, I'm Hungry" and have all of the local restaurants pop up on the Navigation screen
My recommendation is to try the basics on Dealer hand over, then spend as much time as you can in the first week with everything else.
And yes, the Fuji white is very bright

Have you tried air suspension from access to offroad then down to access and back to off road. Mine takes over 2 mins to lift, (put screen on 4X4 and it will tell when raising) if you are in sand and go over that 50 k\h and it lowers getting it back up is a real pain. Have they used 4 screws to hold front number plate on, mine had 2 at top, first deepwater crossing,and goodbye plate.
Cheers Ken
