    air suspension

    Hi all does anybody know if i need to reset anything on my d3 after having a problem with the air suspension? i found one of the hoses had come off the pump i put it back on but the fault symbol still comes on

    Have you turned the ignition off and tried a 2nd time?

    Or removing the earth lead from your battery for a couple of minutes should clear it.

    It may have been forced off by the dryer being wet. Look at the compressor end of the dryer for corrosion on the aluminium.

    No, not the same. The message will be displayed on next startup to inform the driver that there has been a fault even if the fault no longer exists, but wont appear on subsequent startups unless the fault still exists.

    The system should check itself each startup and not display a fault if one doesn't exist at that check. The Fault Code will still be stored in the ecu, but the light/message should only show if there is an ongoing fault.

    If the fault symbol keeps coming on, then it's likely that the fault is still there (maybe like what Caver said).

    I gained this knowledge from 2 compressor failures and use of a Faultmate.

    My car never displayed messages or lights for problems that had occurred and then fixed by me even before fault codes were cleared from the ECU.

    Ah, so the D4 is different to the D3 - my error.
