Do you have an OEM cargo barrier and are you in Melbourne?

...and, do you also want some goodies worth a reasonable amount in return for lending your D3 for two days for measurements. If so, please email me.

Reading between the lines - how many do you intend to make?

    Oh Dear Stornaway,
I think that the UK unit doesn't meet ADRs.

    Your money, your risk.

Peter, it doesn't necessarily mean it's not OK. Just that LR have not had it tested to Aust standards. (Mind you I've never seen on and they do call them a 'Dog Guard').

For instance, the ISOfix child seats aren't approved for use here, but are arguably just as safe, if not safer.

Yep, knew that when I fitted it (and paid $350) for it

Its actually very well secured and easy to fit and remove; I assume that the Poms et al take safety reasonably (!) seriously so whilst it might not meet our standards - its meets Europes....which isnt really THAT bad a thing!!!

    Sorry rmp,

I'm in Brisbane - but I do have a OEM cargo barrier. If you let me know which dimensions you are after, I could do the measurements and PM you with photos and dimensions marked.

Having a OEM cargo barrier was a major selling point for me as the D3 is, I think, one of the only 7 seat, side airbag equipped 4WDs that can be fitted with a cargo barrier without interfering with the side airbag deployment (if fitted with the LR approved version). Apparently LR have done quite a bit of research on this and it fully conforms with ADR etc. I have a pack of hounds to lug around, so the barrier was a non-negociable! (plus for touring purposes, it's a must)

Mine was fitted by Austral motors here in Brisbane.

Let me know - happy to help.

    Cheers,

    Tunnelthug.

    Hi Guys,
I'm glad that my post prompted so many responses.

My concern is not that the barrier is not "fit for purpose" but, rather, that the barrier has been submitted by LRA for ADR approval, and failed.

    Can anyone alleviate my concern?

    Best Wishes,
    Peter
