5 LT 265/65R18 BFG AT TA KO RWL E tires $245 each.
    Merchandise total - $1,225.00
    Shipping total - $ 485.47
    Total is $1,710.47
You will need to add $122.50 in GST as the cost of the goods exceeds $1000. As indicated above you will also need to take into account various transaction and clearance fees as well. Fitting will add about another $200 to the cost.

See if the can break up the package so that each is less than $1000 - but overall shipping costs may go up.

    Chris,

Moot point probably but will the BFG's be legal being 38mm bigger than the factory fit tyres?

They're not in QLD as the limit is 15mm

    Thanks guys

I have ordered cooper ATR 265/60R18s today, fitting next week by Tempe Tyres at $270 each.

Not an easy decision, but in the end the ability to fit the spare fully inflated and keeping at least $750 in my pocket outweighed going with the BFG AT 265/65s.

That $750 will buy me a canvas roof bag, shortened rods and then some.

This is my first run on coopers, having run three sets of BFG in the past. I will be touring through central old in June/July and will report to you how they go.

Thankyou all for your advice and posts - very helpful.

    Cheers, Chris

That's an interesting post . The Queensland Dealers can't get stock
until next month , and they're all in the region of $385 each fitted ..........
Are you importing these or are they supplied by Tempe ?

Supplied by Tempe. They had four in stock and are chasing the fifth.

Quote from supplier in Nowra was $380.

My 5 were on separate tracking numbers but were also tied together using the first number. They went through customs as a job lot according to the tracking info. No customs charges but not surprising as the tyres cost less than $1000.

My 5 tyres came to over $1,000.00 and I was charged GST.

I estimated the final cost of BFGAT's at $420 per tyre after import, GST, fitting. Jax quoted $495 fitted and Bob Jane advised a 3 month wait. Tempe don't sell the 265/65R18s. Going with the Coopers saved me between $750 and $1100 depending on how I sourced them.
