I know where their is a rack i think its simular to what you are talking about and is for sale, the only problem is its located here on the Gold Coast from memory its off a 109 I last saw it about 12 months ago.

I've got an Expedition rack I bought with my D4, to be honest I didn't like it (too noisy), I've riveted a rubber strip to the front edge, down to the roof and that helped but still noisy in a cross wind. I'd be happy to sell it for a grand but transport is the problem, packaging etc. I'm 200km south of Perth an d you will need your own short roof rails.

I can echo KENL, now I have an Expedition rack, I think they are more about the look than practicality. They have very few cross rails, and you cannot just chuck items up. The rack is also very noisy. I have used a filler tube to block the airgap on the front to shut it up.

Can I suggest you have a look at the new Rhino 'Pioneer' alloy rack. It is a lot lower in profile, and the side rails are optional. ( you can have it as just a flat tray if you wish.) Apart from that, Dolium have a good option in their Windcheetah range. ( Opposite Lock sell this range. The Windcheetah is a lot more practical and nowhere near as noisy.

    Hi All,
I think that the OL Rackmaster is the FrontRunner WindCheetah (from Sth Africa, through Dolium).

I have the WindCheetah 2.2m rr. To date, the wind noise hasn't been an issue. If it becomes so, I will fit an Al plate to the bottom of the rr.

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

I have to confess I did prefer the look of the "cut down" Expedition rack (see photo of my old D3 with it on (sold with the car) as it sat flush with the roof rails - unlike the aftermarket ones that sit higher.
