			D4 roof tent mounts

Anyone have a sugestion for a nice low profile way of attaching a roof tent to the stock in-roof rails on a D4?????
Was thinking a Black Widow roof tent rack which would give some load space as well. I got a little turned off that idea as it appears the rack mounts on separate roof rack rails that are then mounted to the in-roof rails. I'd prefer something that attached directly to the in-roof rails.

					I'd talk to Black Widow..

This photo on their website looks like it bolts into the LR Roof Rails?

					Hello,

Check out the Rhino products. They have just released a new line called pioneer (from memory) that is a flat alloy tray that mounts directly into the tracks. I have this tray with Rhino roof rails and it is low profile so not an issue getting in and out of carparks around town. All the Rhino accessories can also be mounted onto this tray as it has there standard slots in it for light mounts, aerials, jerry can holders, spare tyre tie down etc. There are some pics of it on a D4 on their website.

Can I be so bold to latch on to this question. I'll receive our new D4 in 2 weeks or so, replacing the now somewhat tired D2.

One thing I did not order from the factory was the roof rails. From what I can see these are bolt-on items, but what rails would be the best to get?

 cheers & thanks

Most 3rd party rails just bolt on. I've got Rackmaster on my D3 - all that was required was to remove the trim peice, drill thru the pre-marked hole and then bolt the rail to the roof.

I didn't get the LR rails because they were expensive. expensive.

Go to the Dolium Pty Ltd site and then click on the "Windcheetah" logo at the top left hand corner and you'll get all the specs for their racks - and you don't have to drill any holes to mount them !!!
I particularly like their full length ladder.

 cheers

					Hi Oldsalt,

I can't disagree with you, as I found it impossible to view the FR ladder. However, our Sth African friends recommended the LR ladder in preference to the FR.

 Best Wishes,
 Peter
