Put my !8" oem wranglers back on the D3 today.
It was interesting to note that the ride is much softer (read too soft) & there is much more wallow in the car on roundabouts etc.
Having said the above the fuel consumption improvement was significantly noticeable over only 50 kilometres.
At this stage I think the larger LT tyres are probably using 1 -1.5 l/100km more than oem's.
It was pouring with rain today & i did notice that the oem's did not send out as a big a plume of spray out the back - is that good or bad!!
No noticeable improvement in on road grip.
The LT tyres are Mickey Thompson MTZ's.

Chuck
Why would you run 42psi all round? Can only decrease your grip levels and ruin the ride.. I run factory pressures unless I am towing or fully loaded in which case I run the run at 40psi. Was once advised by a tyre fitter to run the tyres on my sport at 42psi..Going round roundabouts in the dry the traction control light kept coming on and when it rained the car was dangerous to drive. Also the ride was shocking..Never again!
What size are the Mickey Thompson's?

I found 40 psi too harsh for my GG ATs I run about 2psi above factory pressures and am happy withthe result.
I am running 38lb.
