Evening,
I am sorting out the space to install my second battery in my D4 using a Traxide kit. As I went to check the fitting of the ITC module I noticed what looks like a plug sitting next to the harness to which the wires are connected (refer to middle of photo). It has a blade sticking out one end.
Should it be connected to anything? I could not see any obvious spot and no bonging or lights came up on the dash when I turned on the ignition and started it.
Don't want to get it all back together and then find out I need to connect it and have to pull it all apart again.

Yeah, having some problems loading the photo.
It is not part of the Traxide kit, but part of the OEM harness. Tim's kit is pretty straightforward, it is just the extras floating around that causes me confusion.

I didn't notice any spare harness plugs when I did my aux battery install. But I have the 2.7 D4, so maybe a different harness to the 3.0L?
Finally got the photo to attach. The offending plug is in the centre of the photo.
Any suggestions, and does it need to be connected.

						I have a D3 not 4 but I would think you should leave as is. Not sure what it is for but you haven't got it on your model.
drivesafe 'traxide' normally has everything covered
i dont own a D3 but i would assume if drivesafe has not mentioned it in his instructions than it would not be required as part of the install
It does NOT connect to anything in our market, I have noticed this on all the vehicles & it is normally taped to the ABS harness.

Thanks Peter, I was not sure where to look for this connector as I was not sure if it was common to all the D4s or just 3lts versions.

...must mean that the Traxide system is operational. Went to solid green after starting. Haven't got out the multi-meter yet to check the volts at the plugs.
Tim the kit was spot on. Spent more time trying to ensure that everything would fit when moving the modules than actually installing. Found that if you are really gentle, it is possible to lift the cover under the skid panel to run the cable to the rear. Hides it very nicely.
My one learning point from the exercise is that if you are thinking of fitting a long range tank and a second battery with the Anderson plug at the rear, fit the battery kit first. Was a real bugger getting the cable past the tank to bring through the bumper.
Thanks Sneigy for the post on the plug, I can stop worrying about something bringing me to a halt in the middle of nowhere now.
