    Dash Clock with Aftermarket stereo

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the clock in the dash of a D3? I installed a new head unit with DVD/GPS/Bluetooth etc but have consequently found out that the clock in the info display is run via the OEM Head unit.

Now the problem is the wife likes a clock in the car (don't know why because she is always late) Is there a way to proivide a clock signal to the info doisplay clock??

    Help appreciated

I have asked this question on a number of forums and got basically zero reponses which I assumed to be a no. One said they mounted the original radio in a hidden spot when they put in the new head unit as it is needed to work the clock in the trip computer (they also said it is linked to something else but I do not know what).

What head unit did you put in? Got a link? Can you operate it from the steering wheel? Can you operate an ipod with it from the steering wheel and does it have a usb port?

    Will watch with interest.

this is the link to the unit.

We got a double Din Fascia so it fits as per factory - works with the steering wheel controls and we added the navigation, Ipod (wifes old Iphone 3 sits in the glove box connected all the time), reversing camera, blue tooth.

Neat unit, the fascia folds down to insert DVD or CD's etc. Yes we have a USB input in the glove box also.

All the additional bits and pieces are installed under the dash.

    Touch screen etc.

I will grab some installed pics and post up when I am home tonight.

Cost - Around $2k installed - plus the installers give us free updates when the come out.

You can also add screens in the rear that are controlled via the unit so the kids can watch DVD's/ movies off the Ipod on those long trips

So the clock on post 06 upgrade discos is run off the radio sent via the CAN bus.

I haven't seen any devices capable of sending the clock signal instead of the radio.... Better to use the new radio's clock.... Hopefully it is more accurate than the std one!
