Got our new TDV6 the other Saturday, looking brand spankers, the next morning my wife says she wants to go for a drive to Tumut, great I said, nice...then she tells me...I want to go to Tumut over the Brindabella's. Well no time like the present to get it a little bit dirty then to Maccas for a coffee.

But can I just say, that car is just sublime.

Had a very quick look at the "Brindabella's" a few days ago - got to get back there soon for some camping !!! ... we went to see the deep space tracking station at "Tidbinbilla"

then took a side road out to "Corin Dam"... and saw this old Landie on the side of the road at an outdoor trecking type of place...

it looked pretty sad and lonely...

    Upgrade to D4

    Hi Everyone

    I upgraded my Disco 3 to a MY14 D4 TDV6 with Hi-ICE, e-Diff. Also took out extended warranty for 2 years.

Purchased it from Purnell Motors in Sydney and picked her up last Saturday.

Cant say enough of Purnell and their great service both from their sales team and Finance team. They were very competitive when it came to pricing.......

I would recommend Purnell to any of you.

First photo is when she was just off the Ship... no rego.

Second photo is from Saturday... when picking her up... Jeez! she looks too white and clean!!! Got to do something about it.... hehe

    Cheers
    Bala

BTW There is a BIG difference between the D3 and the TDV6 D4!! Permagrin on!!!

Well drove the new toy home from Sydney on Saturday....

.. finally stopped driving it around the place long enough to take a couple of shots.... I now fully understand the term "permagrin"

The next month or so will see the side steps changed for Brad's sliders and a snorkel added. I think I can see this one living at my place for a long time

    Old and New....

And Pete... it's due for it 60K service, so I'll be visiting Port Melbourne very soon...

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most

2012 SDV6 SE D4 with some stuff... gone...
    2003 D2a TD5...gone...
    2000 D2 V8...gone...

    Simpson Crossing

We are back in Adelaide after completing the Simpson Crossing in 3.5 days West to East. This car is absolutely amazing, we did not miss one hill, had no problems whatsoever, and climbed Big Red the hardest track up first time. The Prado with us took 4 turns and had to air down twice to make it. Their were around 8 cars trying to make the climb, one HiLux gave up after 7 goes , our D4 was the only vehicle to do it first time (in High 2 Sand mode) with effort to spare, the Prado driver an experienced Simpson driver was amazed. The car is pictured below at Birdsville Campsite where we camper for a most welcome shower

I'm still getting used to it! I've been babying it, treading lightly on the go pedal most of the time...then today at lights went to beat a Prado alongside before we merged, and I gave it a bit too much!

That engine has still got some surprises for me if as you say it gets better.

They talk about launch mode in sand, this time at the lights, I found a new launch mode, my son in the back has been letting me know each time I approach the red line, this time he missed it as we both were a bit distracted with 'missile mode'...

    update 2 on the RRS

GOE Rock Sliders and Step out bars added last week by OL brookvale..as well as a compressor plate, LED module and Anderson plug, just a large service
tomorrow and she is off to the Cape, the sliders and step outs are pretty unobtrusive and blend in well
