Overlander 4WD Of The Year - Nissan Pathfinder

Just read through Overlander magazine to find that Nissan Pathfinder pulled off 4WD Of The Year.
First of all my thoughts were 'What The' , then I read on.
Page 151 explained that the award is only open to vehicles that are all new or significantly revised that year.
Not sure whether this gives readers a false perception or not.
If first timers were to pick up this magazine and think that the Pathie was the vehicle to buy, they would be falsely mislead.

    Cheers, Craig

    I did read this.
The editors response was that it was out of the ordinary for a D3. He also mentioned that a D3 owner that he spoke with had travelled over 200K including remote outback areas and heavy duty low range work, with no problems apart from a warning light in which was reset by a LR stealer.

I'll bet Nissan hope it rubs off in sales. The Pathfinder doesn't do too well in the marketplace. Kindof in no mans land.

The Pathfinder was very lucky to win - the competition was not strong that year. It is also a shame when two or more very good cars come out that would ordinarily win easily. It's like being the world's second best ever tennis player...at the same time the best of all time is currently playing!
