    I'm new here and Hellloooo.

    Hello All,

Just traded in my VW Golf GTI for a 2006 D3 SE V6 Petrol.
Needed the extra space and I'm quite looking forward to a bit of off road action in the future.
I know nothing about off roading other than when I was 9 I went on a Canning Stock Route expedition in a family friends (I Think) Defender V8. Most other people were driving brand new Landcruisers and they had nowhere near the charisma of the affectionately labled 'Barge'.
When it finally came time to get a seven seater I just couldn't go past the Discovery 3. The looks alone hooked me and I've had a soft spot for them ever since 2005. No doubt my Canning Stock Route Land Rover memories also played a part....
Anyway, as expected 2 days after taking ownership I received a 'HDC FAULT SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE' warning on startup. Fingers crossed it's just the battery!!
Ahhh the wonderful world of Land Rover...So this is what it's like...
Happy Motoring people and Hello Again!!!

    Welcome along.

They can be frustrating at times (Landy's tht is) but whn you drive 'em it's all worthwhile eh! They are like nothing else on the planet !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Welcome, and hang in there. Those annoying little glitches, generally have a reason.

Amazingly, ( like any computer ) shutting everything down, and restarting ( rebooting ) seems to cure most ills.

If you want to learn a little more about using the car off-road, I still have a few places for the Perth seminars in Feb and March

    Cheers,

    Gday...
I am also a fairly newbie to both Discos and the forum. Welcome.

They are a good mob here ... lots of good advice and knowledge/experience ... passionate LR dudes ... and some great debates from time to time.

My Disco is 2006 TDV6 SE Auto (89,000km now) which I've only had since June last year.

Absolutely brilliant to drive ANYWHERE and so far been reliable with only minor niggles.

    Cheers

    G'day.

2006 eh? You'ld think the previous owner would have ironed out ALL the kinks, wouldn't ya?
I'll bet you'll love it. Strangely, although my Landy connections go way back to my time as a mech in the Army, my previous car was a Golf as well ( Mark V ). I don't miss it. My 2000 model TD5 is currently away helping out my son. It's been gone two days, and I miss it heaps.
Abandon all sanity, ye who enter here.

Even if you have plenty of experience in 'other ' 4wd's, this course is an eye opener to the capability of the D3/D4/RRS. They are different, and the course is well worth the effort.
