    Hi Sadie
I've just installed the Parrot MK9200 in my D3 and am thrilled with how it works. It mutes the stereo, has a great screen to scroll through your contacts using the remote, which can be conveniently located. Also can plug in ipods, SD cards and memory sticks with music, but haven't tried that yet. Am a bit unsure of the sound quality of using ipods etc, as it uses the Parrot's inbuilt amp, not the car's. Otherwise all is great.
    Cheers

Here are a couple of pictures of the install.
    Pictures of the D3
I've placed the screen just behind the steering wheel, and stuck it on using 3M double sided tape. Does not block anything, and can be adjusted if needed.
The controller is a small wireless unit that can be mounted on the steering wheel using a rubber strap, but as I kept accidentally hitting the button, I moved it to the centre of the car, just below the radio.
To activate, I use the controller, did not have the phone button on my radio. The phone mic is placed just right of my sun visor, and call quality has been pretty good. Main advantages for me is that it can also charge my iphone4, while enabling bluetooth streaming of internet radio.
    Hope it helps.

    Hi Sniegy.

I've just been to my local in-car audio bloke, who says that installing this kit in my car will mean that I lose power to the subwoofers in the tailgate. Is that your experience, too? I'm really not keen on doing that, and the only other option he suggested was a Parrot 3100 kit, but the sound would not come through to me through the car's speakers, but from an external speaker that he would mount up under the dash somewhere....

Sadie, Because yours is an 09MY ithas the upgraded stereo with 9 buttons, I would assume from your vehicle descrition. All this means is a little more work for your vehicle. If your fitter is after some fitting info he may want to conatct Freeway Car audio in Malvern Vic & they may have some info to pass on to help out.
I will also check my books to see what difference it makes for the 09MY's as i am at home today & will return to work tomorrow.
    Cheers

Thanks Sniegy, I really appreciate your help.

The issue was really about the fact that mine has the Harmon Kardon speaker setup, with the amp under the drivers seat and sub in the rear door. He said the only way to get the phone to work through the stereo was to disable the sub.....

    Hi Sadie,

I have MY09 D3 with Parrot Bluetooth kit. When call comes in it mutes radio, CD, iPod to have phone call come through car speakers, also Harmon Kardons. I had the installation done at time of purchase in Sydney, they used an external provider, but your local LR dealer should have someone that they can direct you to. BTW with my iPhone 4 I also have voice control through the Parrot kit. No screens just red and green button with knob mounted on dash behind steering wheel beside instrument binnacle.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

Hi Dom, thanks for that. I may have to contact the dealer to see who they recommend. Is your Parrot kit the MKi9200?

Ah, OK. That's fine. I'd possibly prefer the MKi9200, but the handsfree features are really what I'm after, so your model would do the job. I do want something that uses the car speakers, though, rather than mounting another speaker under the dash where it can't be heard. And I don't want to lose the subwoofer!

The facility to mute the radio and play phone audio via the front speakers is there and the pinouts are in the document on Topix that describes how to install the aftermarket factory bluetooth kit.
