D4 HSE Factory bullbar just seen

    Hi,
i just had the car at the dealer service centre and noticed them taking of a bullbar from a D4 V8. I asked the service manager and he said it was a prototype that had just about finished testing for airbag compliance etc and should be available in about 3 months. It looked like an ECB, but he denied it; he wouldn't tell me who made it but did say it was made locally.
    Cheers,
    Peter

From what I understand it is an ECB made bar. There were some pic's here a while ago from a motor show

I specifically asked if it was an ECB bar and for what it's worth, he categorically denied it.

that would be because they will charge 3 times what ECB would. Cant have the punters knowing the truth.

Saw what looked like an aluminium LR bar on a D4 yesterday going through Rye on the Mornington Peninsula yesterday.
Didnt look too bad. A bit bulky & shiny I thought.
The approach angle would be nowhere near as good as the OL or ARB.

Not too hard to work out who made it if it's alloy.

Will be on the market soon.

Personally I reckon if you're going to get a bar, do it properly and buy a steel winch model.

I agree, however unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any other option for the D4 HSE or V8.

It is the Roos that dont like the steel bars. They like the alloy ones........they don't hurt as much.
I'll stick with the steel. That way (in most cases) I get to drive home.

    now i am confuesed!

I was in the ARB Penrith store today and the manager was adamant that they could fit an ARB bar to a HSE (but not the V8). I pointed out that the web site specifically stated they wouldn't fit to an HSE or V8, however he said they hadn't updated the website. In my presence he rang Newcastle ARB and they confirmed they have fitted bars to HSE without any dramas.
