    Strewth! What next - a D4 dual-cab!

Nearly pranged the D4 yesterday - waiting to go round one of Albany's many round-abouts and what should do a full circuit and head off the opposite direction to me but a chopped Disco 4 with a tradie's toolbox on the back!! Yep, a dual-cab with a shortish tray dominated by the big storage box thingy right along one side. Could not believe my eyes! Still cannot believe it - must have been hallucinating, surely? Sadly, it was going the opposite direction to me, and I was wedged in - by the time I could get round to follow it had long gone, and despite a pretty serious search could not be found to verify what I think I saw...

If only I could claim to have just snacked on some of those lovely leaf-laden cookies from back in the 70s... Next I'll be seeing polar bears sun-tanning on Middleton Beach!

I'm having trouble picturing a D4 dual cab with alloy tray!
Definitely need photos! This would even be of interest to the 4x4 magazines.

I imagine that it had a prang in the rear that then resulted in this "custom work"?!?!

If it's a local vehicle I'd be pretty sure to see it again - and will chase it down, not only for pics but also to talk to the owner. If, as I suspect, it's from outta town then it's unlikely I'll see it again. Still wondering if I was seeing things . Unbelievable

There was a company in Perth doing conversions when the D3 was the current model - maybe they've expanded into D4's?

Check the WA section - there were some pics posted a while back by LandyAndy.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
