Need that bar levelled up.. It's sitting low on passengers side.
Why do people keep buying this LED driving light gear?
So much evidence to prove they're not a good idea for driving lights...
$600+ is Not good value for a LED driving light.
Tombie I can only speak for myself, the LED light bar I had was Fantastic, it was like daytime when they were switched on. I personally like the white light.
I looked into those Fyrlyt thingies and just wasn't convinced, it was like watching and reading a reverse psychology Demtel commercial. I personally don't like Halogen, I don't care how bright or far they go, I still prefer a quality white light LED.
If there is something I'm missing please enlighten me (pardon the pun).

I got them at mates rates but also I prefer the spread. I don't need to see 2km down the road. Is winding where I am so no straight part to have benefit of long distance. I only want to be able to see the road well lit up and the roo that is a couple hundred metres ahead of me off to the side. In saying all that, this is the first time I will have ever bought led spotties, previously have always had light bars and loved them.
Thanks guys for the responses.
It's the very ability to see Roos that the white light removes..
The very thing you're looking for is assisted in hiding due to CRI.
The science and medical facts about the human eye, fatigue etc are out there.
To be transparent. The 90 has LED headlights, a LED bar and Fyrlyts.
I just spent another 5 hours in the vehicle at night.
Around town the LEDs are great.
Once in a low contrast environment like scrub & highway they're useless.
At that point the CRI makes the colours merge, removing ability to determine Grey Kangaroo on dark background.
Very interesting Tombie, I have been very disappointed with LED lights but never knew why. I noted that none of them seem to be true spots, and they put such a bright light near-field that they are dazzling, and distant kangaroos are invisible. But knowing now that their CRI is poor explains it much better.
I ended up binning the LED's and replacing the standard H4 lights in my Oka with HID globes, very happy with that.
Totally agree with you Tombie with regards to determining grey on a dark background.
However it's not that you can't see the Roo on the dark background rather you obviously see it better with the Halogen style.
I have never had a problem spotting Roos & Wombats with the light bar and I too have a winding journey for two hours out of my 3.5-4 hr trip to the farm, so having everything lit up like daytime is somewhat comforting when driving at night.
The last Lightbar I had was rated as - read a newspaper at 800m still 85% light at 500m and anything under that was phenomenal.
I only need to see a couple of hundred of metres in front, pointless trying to see animals on the side of the road beyond 200m I can't see them regardless of what light I'm using, especially when moving at 100klm/ph.
The biggest problem I found with the Lightbar is when you turn them off for a passing vehicle it's like you have no lights at all.
But, in saying all this I haven't tried the likes of Fyrlyt, so maybe if I did I might prefer them over the Lightbar, the problem is I didn't warm to their marketing tactics, so I can't make the plunge to give them a go.

Babs...you will still experience the same with FYRLYT's.......when you drop them.
I find these days with powerful driving lights we need to drop them earlier when another car is approaching therefore we spend more time with less light.
I had to drive 400km at night for work the other month......I ended up flicking the FYRLYT's Ou off and raving high beam on until the oncoming car got closer than I would drop the high beam......this meant more time with more light. I did forget to drop high beam once
