Good Tyre Supplier in Sydney? D4 19 inch tyres

    Hi All,

Yet another thread on tyres, I know. But does anybody know where to get the Goodyear Wrangler HP 255/55R19 (Standard issue for the D4 3.0SE) around Sydney for a decent price?

Went with the Range Rover Club on the weekend and scored a flat which requires a new tyre.

Tempe Tyres has quoted $500. Is this around the right price?

Or perhaps is it time to replace all the tyres and sell the 4 remaining ones (only 15,000km) second hand?

    Thanks!

    eddomak,

Every time I have purchased new tyres over the past 3 years i have rung around and always found Tempe Tyres to be the best priced, by a long way.

Only other option would appear to be purchasing form USA and importing yourself which for most seems to be cheaper ?

$500 per tyre seems steep, even for 19inch tyres, by way of some comparison I purchased Continental Cross Contact AT in 255/60 R18 at around $320 per tyre.

Hope this helps, and I have absolutely no affiliation with Tempe Tyres just got the best prices each time I have checked.

    George

Ouch - they're not cheap tyres, even imported from the US!

    Goodyear Wrangler HP All Weather

I've used tirerack before, and they were great.

    Shipping would be about $450.

Ring Alto Service at St Leonards, ask for Fabio.
They were cheaper for GG a while ago.

Alternatively you could start the progression towards your next set of tyres now and carry a spare with a different tread pattern and leave the wranglers on until they wear out or are destroyed.

WoW,$500 a tire i thought Michelin XPC were expensive.
After 10yrs of driving on XPCs i made the change to Yokohama ATRs very impressed with them @$340 a tire im even happier.
I also got a pro rata damage replacement warranty for free on the tyre they are covered even if you stake one off road and free flat tyre repairs.

CPC's are quite expensive but sadly no longer made and not sure they ever came in 19"inch either.

Tempe I always found cheapest but a mate did have some issues regarding warranties etc.

If your local shop can come close or even match plus fitting of course I would always try and go local.

Our SS ute tyres cost us $465 each and only last 20k km's at the most.

Hope you have better luck on with yours and get higher mileage.

Also with such a wide, big and low profile tyre, i suggest a good warranty back up albeit hurt the pocket could benefit in the long run.

Well, the update so far is as follows:
    1) Tempe Tyres $500, haven't checked if it is a parallel import
    2) Alto St Leonards $510, willing to negotiate
    3) Beaurepaires $604 (after NRMA discount)

Someone here has kindly PM'd me an offer to buy their spare. (Thanks!) and it would cost me $30 to fit and balance.

I am now also checking out Pirelli Scorpion ATR imported from USA.

Will keep you in the loop.

I'm looking for replacements for my 19" Wranglers, from what I can find the Pirelli ATR's are the way to go. Anyone had any prices on these? Edo where you thinking of importing a set from the US? I'd so maybe buying 8 might be a better value shipping. I'd go half's with you.

Here are some quick details from a quote from the US
5 Tyres Pirelli Scorpion ATR 255/55R19
FED ECONOMY (3-5 DAYS) - $ 450.78 SHIPPING METHOD FIE
    5 x P255/55R19 PI SCOR ATR XL 265.00
    Total = $USD 1775, average price = $USD355ea

4 Tyres Pirelli Scorpion ATR 255/55R19
FED ECONOMY (3-5 DAYS) - $ 368.37 SHIPPING METHOD FIE
    4 x P255/55R19 PI SCOR ATR XL 265.00
Total = $USD1428, average price = $USD357ea (underlined parts corrected as a result of follow-up post)

I am not sure whether any taxes would be imposed, especially on larger quantities.

Rich - we should continue on this via PM to see if we do a combined buy, but I thought others might be interested in indicative prices so I have posted these here.
