Wheel Alignment For A D4 (in Brisbane area)

    Hi All,

I'm about to get 5 new tyres for my D4. I have a few questions about wheel alignment.
    • Got an alignment by LR a few months ago and the car still seems to be tracking fine. Do I need one?
    • I understand that a D4 should be aligned in Tight Tolerance Mode and that requires a special bit of kit. Are there any places in Brisbane, outside LR that can conduct this?
    • How much should I expect to pay?
    Thanks,

    Kev.

I don't think tight tolerence is needed now on the D4, just road height. I'm sure one of the techys will confirm or deny.

    Thanks Ken,

Had a guy at Bob Jane who was ex-Fulcrum Suspension state that....but you just never know. I had some work done at the 'latest and greatest' BMW place at Daisy Hill and when LR checked, it was out by 6mm. They fixed it for free. I saw the report, so it was no BS story.

I thought that the problem was the car trying to constantly self level. That should be minimal on their alignment platform but I imagine any movement would affect the alignment.

    What's the truth?....I dunno....thus the thread.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

If your worried about height moving, put hazards on and open door or tailgate.
The stupid thing will think you've got a flat and changing the tyre.

    Cheers Ken
