Some questions you will need to answer

Does it have Aust radio bands or US bands?

Is it compatible with the D3 speakers?

If fitted - is it compatible with steering wheel controls and the clock in the car computer.

Can you get Australian maps and updates?

You will need to get a blank double din facia to put it in.

Thanks for the reply Gary. To be honest I have absolutely no intention of buying one of these unless somebody else (preferably more than one) has had prior experience with one and would recommend it thus the relevant points you have raised would likely be confirmed as being compatible by them. This is simply a product I came across while exploring my options preferably from a local supplier as its likely that I’ll want it professionally fitted unless a simple plug and play fit is all that is required. The product I have linked here would have only been of interest to me if somebody here had said “Yes I purchased one, great product, happy to recommend it”.

My original post should have been a little clearer. I’m looking for a replacement product that will substitute the oem stereo head unit preferably a simply install possibly utilising a simple adaptor.

I’d prefer a double din however I had considered a single din player and putting a UHF in the other spot; Gps is not necessary but the ability to add one as an accessory at a later date may be handy; I have the S model that doesn’t have the steering wheel controls other than cruise control so the stereo control feature at the steering wheel is irrelevant to me, I cant see why I’d need to be overly concerned about the clock in the car computer; Bluetooth would be nice; usb or ipod connectivity a must, budget around $1000.00.

Other posts that i have found are either possibly outdated (a couple of years old), refer to products that are out of my intended budget, or I cant find reference to i.e the Alpine aftermarket unit I referred to in my original post (which may or may not be within my budget).

Freeway Car Radio in Malvern have a good system that fits exactly in the space where the factory sat nav goes.
They have some good photos on their web site.

You could then use the original spot to install UHF.

Not sure if it will meet your budget but it does have radio, sat nav, blue tooth etc etc.
